Selective Laser Melting of Pure Ag and 925Ag Alloy and Their Thermal Conductivity

Due to the high reflectivity of Ag infrared lasers, there is little research focused on manufacturing and alloys by selective laser melting (SLM) technique. In this paper, characteristics, microstructure, thermal conductivity SLMed Ag, 925Ag, their heat-treated parts were studied. With suitable processing parameters, 925Ag samples with relative densities 91.06% 96.56%, respectively, obtained. existence non-molten particles inside local energy density during processing, a large number irregular pores micropores formed in microstructures. XRD analysis shows that no phase transition occurred annealed solution-treated parts, as compared as-built conditions. The exhibited fine equiaxed grains, while both columnar grains elongated lath existed parts. grains. grain growth increased 11.35% after completing annealing treatment. However, decreased 17.14% solid solution treatment, due precipitation strengthening at boundaries. A comparison conductivities influence materials obtained was more pronounced than porosity.
